Jack of some trades, master of none

I'm a mechanical designer in the electronics industry, currently working in life sciences and medical devices. In the past, I've designed bespoke mechanical components and full assemblies for deep sea vessels, commercial aircraft, trains, and mine clearance in conflict zones. Most of my work nowadays revolves around mechanical design for high voltage equipment for mass spectrometry and cancer treatment.<br /> <br /> I'm trying something new - and it's a long term project. I would like to fill my new home with furniture entirely designed and made by myself and my partner. Eventually, I would like to build a cabin in my home county of Cumbria. I can't wait to learn from the rest of you all the practical skills I'm missing, and I'm also willing to lend a hand design side on anyones projects, if you as nicely :)
